Cookie Policy

What Cookies Are

Cookies are small text files a website stores in your browser. They let a site remember basic things between page loads and visits, and they let advertisers measure and target the ads that keep a free site running. OpenLTE keeps its own cookie use deliberately light — the RF calculators themselves need no cookies to work.

The Cookies We Use

Essential Cookies

A small number of cookies are needed for the site to function — for example to remember a dismissed newsletter prompt so it does not keep reappearing. These cannot be switched off without breaking parts of the site, and they hold no advertising or tracking data.

Advertising Cookies (Google AdSense)

OpenLTE is funded by advertising through Google AdSense. Google and its advertising partners may set cookies to show ads based on your visits to this and other sites, to measure how ads perform, and to stop the same ad repeating too often. These include Google AdSense and DoubleClick cookies. We do not run a separate web-analytics tracker on the site.

Controlling Cookies

Browser Settings

Every major browser lets you block or delete cookies in its settings, usually under “Privacy” or “Options.” You can refuse all cookies, allow only some, or be asked each time.

Opting Out of Ad Personalisation

You can turn off personalised Google ads at Google Ads Settings, and opt out of many third-party advertising cookies at the Network Advertising Initiative opt-out page.

Do Not Track

Some browsers send a “Do Not Track” signal. We honour it where it is technically feasible to do so.

If You Disable Cookies

The calculators, guides, and museum will still work if you block cookies. You may simply see a prompt reappear that would otherwise have stayed dismissed, and ads may become less relevant.

Updates

We may update this Cookie Policy to reflect changes in technology or law, and will revise the “Last updated” date when we do.
