Welcome to OpenLTE (“we,” “our,” or “us”). These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of openlte.com and all of its RF-engineering calculators, guides, and related features (together, the “Service”). By using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

Acceptance and Changes

By accessing or using OpenLTE, you confirm that you have read and accept these Terms and our Privacy Policy, which forms part of them. We may update these Terms at any time; continued use after a change means you accept the current version.

Educational Estimates, Not Engineering or Regulatory Advice

The Service exists to give general, educational estimates. The path-loss, link-budget, antenna-gain, power-conversion, wavelength, and channel-capacity calculators apply standard formulas to the numbers you enter; their results are planning aids, not a stamped engineering design, an RF-exposure assessment, or regulatory clearance, and not a promise of any outcome. OpenLTE is not an engineering firm, a manufacturer, or a spectrum regulator. For anything that goes on the air, affects human RF exposure, or involves licensed spectrum, rely on a qualified RF engineer and the rules that apply to you rather than this Service.

What the Service Provides

OpenLTE offers, free of charge:

• A free-space path loss calculator
• An RF link budget calculator
• An antenna gain converter (dBi / dBd / linear / beamwidth)
• A dBm-to-watt power converter
• A frequency and wavelength calculator, and a Shannon channel capacity calculator
• Educational guides, a Learn section, and an illustrated Wireless & Radio Museum

We may modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service at any time.

Your Responsibilities

When you use the Service, you agree to:

• Use the tools in good faith for your own learning and preliminary engineering planning
• Enter accurate figures, and check the values, units, and reference points before relying on a result
• Take responsibility for the designs you build and the power you transmit, and confirm anything material with a qualified professional and your regulator
• Not attempt to disrupt, overload, scrape, or reverse-engineer the Service
• Not use the Service for any unlawful purpose or to infringe others’ rights

Assumption of Risk

RF design, transmission, and installation carry real technical, safety, and legal consequences. You use the information on this Service at your own risk and remain solely responsible for deciding whether a given design, power level, or installation is safe, legal, and fit for purpose. Always confirm figures that matter with equipment datasheets, a qualified RF engineer, and your spectrum authority over anything here.

No Warranty

The Service is provided “as is.” While we aim for accuracy, we make no warranties, express or implied, that calculations are error-free or fit for your particular purpose, and we disclaim implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, OpenLTE and its suppliers will not be liable for any damages — including equipment damage, interference, regulatory penalties, or loss of data — arising from your use of, or inability to use, the Service, even if advised of the possibility of such damage.

Intellectual Property

The site’s original text, design, and calculator code are the property of OpenLTE and protected by copyright. Museum and Learn material sourced from Wikipedia and Wikimedia Commons remains under its original licenses. You may use the tools for personal, non-commercial purposes; you may not copy or repurpose the site’s materials for commercial use without permission.

Third-Party Links and Advertising

The Service may link to third-party sites and displays advertising through networks such as Google AdSense. We do not control or endorse third-party content, and using any linked site or advertised product is at your own risk.

Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States, and you submit to the courts of that jurisdiction for any dispute.
