Privacy Policy

The Short Version

Introduction

OpenLTE (“we,” “our,” or “us”) publishes free RF-engineering calculators and guides at openlte.com. We built the site to need as little of your data as possible: the tools work without an account, and the maths runs on your device. This policy explains the little we do collect, why, and the choices you have. It applies to all visitors and is written with privacy regulations such as the GDPR and CCPA in mind.

What the Calculators Do Not Send

The Free-Space Path Loss Calculator, RF Link Budget Calculator, Antenna Gain Converter, dBm to Watt Converter, Frequency & Wavelength Calculator, and Shannon Channel Capacity Calculator all run entirely in your browser. The values you enter — distances and frequencies, transmit powers and antenna gains, cable losses and sensitivities, bandwidths and SNRs — are used only to show you a result on your screen. They are never transmitted to us, stored on our servers, or accessible to us in any form. Close the tab and they are gone.

What We Do Collect

If you contact us or subscribe: we receive the email address you provide, and any message you send, so we can reply or send the newsletter you asked for. We keep contact emails only as long as needed to handle your query, and you can ask us to delete them.

Standard server logs: like any website, our hosting records basic technical data such as browser type, referring page, and a truncated IP address, used to keep the site running and secure. These logs are rotated automatically and not used to identify you.

How We Use Information

We do not sell, rent, or trade your information, and we do not use it to build advertising profiles ourselves.

Cookies and Advertising

We use only the cookies needed for the site to function, plus those set by Google AdSense, which funds the free tools. Google and its partners may use cookies to show ads based on your visits to this and other sites. You can opt out of personalised advertising through Google Ads Settings and learn more at Google’s advertising policies. We do not currently run a separate web-analytics tracker.

Your Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:

To exercise any of these, email support@openlte.com.

Children’s Privacy

The site is aimed at working and aspiring radio and wireless engineers and is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information. If you believe a child has sent us personal data, contact us and we will delete it.

Data Security

We use appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect the limited data we hold, though no method of transmission over the internet is ever completely secure.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time and will post any changes here with a new “Last updated” date.
